The Smart World of Big Dutchman on display in Bangkok
Less plastic and steel, but more bits and bytes: following the motto “The Smart World of Big Dutchman”, the German equipment supplier was part of VIV Asia 2019 with many “hot topics” regarding digitization. But not only that: “To us, ‘smart’ also means clever innovations, housing concepts, and other solutions pig and poultry farm managers can use to make their farms future-proof,” explained Big Dutchman CEO Bernd Meerpohl.
Just as smart: the Big Dutchman booth, which was dominated by an airy Apple Store look and feel following a big makeover. “We wanted a booth that combines smart and effective utilization of booth space for product displays with a more service-oriented focus,” said Jan Hofstede, President of Big Dutchman Asia in Malaysia. “Our teams from Thailand, Malaysia and Germany did a fantastic job achieving this goal.” The emphasis of the 2019 booth concept was thus placed less on the exhibits and more on the exchange with customers by providing more discussion space.
The plan worked out: “In conclusion, VIV Asia 2019 was a successful show,” affirmed Jan Hofstede, who was pleased with the new fair experience.
Big Dutchman was represented by staff from all over the Asia-Pacific region, as well as a team from the company’s headquarters in Vechta, Germany. As in previous years, the large, bright and airy atmosphere of the Big Dutchman booth, which occupied a space of 513 square metres, constantly attracted numerous existing and potential customers. Many visitors expressed their admiration for the impressive set-up of the Big Dutchman booth.
Big Dutchman equipment on display included the innovative farm management system BigFarmNet, drinking systems, air inlets and manure removal systems, CompoTower (manure treatment) and DOL 53 (sensor for ammonia measuring) for modern poultry production. For modern pig farming, farrowing pens, Fusionpro (feeding-on-demand system), the electronic sow feeding system CallMatic, and more was shown at VIV Asia 2019.
A special section was utilised by Agricon to showcase their current and completed projects. Agricon is Big Dutchman’s brand for agro-industry building structures. Big Dutchman provides turnkey projects to customers all over the Asia-Pacific region.
VIV Asia is the largest international trade show in Asia and held in Bangkok every two years. More than 1250 international exhibitors participated in this year’s show.
